- Heat gain
Which windows are heating your home?
The fastest route is the phone. Describe the fault, the building and roughly when it started, and we will take it from there. We cover Berkeley and the surrounding area.
What the comparison shows
West is the hot side
Low afternoon sun shines straight into west windows during the warmest part of the day.
Outside beats inside
Blinds stop some heat, but only after the sunlight is already through the glass. Awnings, exterior screens and trees stop it before it gets in.
Big glass adds up
A sliding door facing west can bring in more heat than several small windows elsewhere.
Then size the system
Once the worst windows are shaded, the cooling system you need is often smaller — and quieter.
A heat-gain visit
We walk the house with you
We note every window's direction and shade, check ducts and insulation where we can reach them, and size cooling for what's left. You get the list either way.
